The reasons are numerous but the main reason is the
camaraderie and support we get from each other. Within the private forum
we have 63
bathtub refinishing Members and some of the best refinishing minds world wide. We share information regarding products,
services, and
techniques. It's a good feeling just to be able to talk to other
refinishers world wide. After all, how many refinishers in your area to
you talk shop with.
I have read and been told by actual
suppliers connected to weekend training courses that the bathtub refinishing company failure
rate equals the restaurant failure rate. One out of every ten bathtub
refinishers will make it. That means 9 out of ten inexperienced
refinishers will be out there loaded with product and equipment expense
trying to make a living. It's what gives Refinishers a bad name. They
low ball, and really don't know the trade. So we have banded together to
improve the service and image of independent refinishers. A PBRA
refinisher is that one in 10 that made it, has years
experience and still desires to learn more. A true professional. So as
professionals like Painters, Electricians, Plumbers, Realtors, Restaurant
owners, builders, contractors that all have formal associations we
decided to create our own.
Professional independent
refinishers had no support from anyone other then whom they bought
product from. Our mission is to help and project an image of excellence.
As true professionals we
decided to create our own professional association. We discuss pricing, warranties, the bid
process, new techniques just about anything you can think of
within the refinishing process. Especially ethics.
Regardless of the system you are using
there is always room for help or improvement. Maybe you just want to
share your experiences. We would appreciate that. We even help new
companies that have taken the weekend courses offered by suppliers.
Professional refinishing is a true trade which requires skills and
talents that can only be learned with practice and guidance.
Even the most seasoned veterans have
found our private support group online helpful. It's just nice to be
able to talk or share information with people within the same
profession. We don't make any guarantees and we don't claim to know it
all. However, what we do offer is a place to share information and
mutual support. It's just plain nice to visit with others who share the
same profession. Here

better refinishers. We strive for excellence within the profession and
learn from each others mistakes and successes. We believe all the
suppliers do a great job for supporting the industry. We just take it
one step further at the P.B.R.A.
We especially encourage to join if you participated in a 3 day weekend
refinish course or purchased manuals, videos, or disks sold online. The
above mentioned course are great and help get
you started but it's nice to have the fellowship of other professionals.
Even if you belong to other trade associations join us, you will be
glad you did.
